To promote 'ease of doing business', the Maharashtra government has decided to do away with five operational approvals hotel owners currently need to obtain from the state Home department.

Among others, food registration certificate, swimming pool license and license for public entertainment performance will not be needed anymore, an official release here said. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took the decision to help those looking to set up hotel in the state, it said.
