The new Tourism Policy is expected to generate 10 lakh new jobs and will focus on promoting private investments among others, the minister said.

Maharashtra's new Tourism Policy envisions an investment growth of up to Rs 30,000 crore, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told the State Assembly on Thursday.
The Chief Minister of Maharashtra tweeted the minister on Twitter as saying:
This policy will pave way for development of basic amenities by increasing the investment upto ₹30,000 crore in Maharashtra.

"We are promoting Maharashtra as the numero uno tourist destination by developing a robust tourism infrastructure and facilitating investment in the sector," Fadnavis said.
The state Cabinet has approved the policy at its meeting on March 8, he said in the House through a statement.
The new Tourism Policy is expected to generate 10 lakh new jobs and will focus on promoting private investments and accelerating project implementation through a public-private partnership model, he said.
This policy will generate 10 lakh new employment and double the income of State coming from tourism industry.

To enhance global investment prospects in the sector, the new policy will also undertake initiatives to reach out to global investors' community, the Chief Minister said.
The prime focus of this policy is on agro tourism, setting up of Kalagram, development of forts, better hospitality & amenities,etc.
