Three students from Vietnam, who are undergoing an internship at JFE Engineering Corporation in Tokyo, collect garbage and deliver it to the biomass power station.
The garbage generates electricity and is a unique experience for Vietnam students.
"In an age of globalization I believe the branch offices in south-east Asia will play more important role in the near future. So, after internship, the students will take charge of our projects in their country in future, we will be able to collaborate more closely and effectively. They will be more aware of our business, said Yoshiki Ikematsu, Manager, Global HR Section, Human Resources Dept, JFE Engineering Corporation.
The students also learn about the functioning of biomass power plant like analyzing the usage of water to run the machines properly. They learn many different things in a day.
"I have a chance to gain knowledge in Aqua Solution sector. It's good for my future job. Maybe, I can become one of the members of JFE if I get a chance. Collection of garbage was the best experience. Best memory in Japan. I never forget it," said intern from Vietnam.
It's not only providing training to students from Vietnam, the Japanese firms are giving technical assistance to Chinese metro. Harbin Metro Line1, a 17.4 km track with 18 underground stations in northeast China was inaugurated in September 2013.
The Automatic Train Control System for Harbin Metro has been provided by Japanese company Kyosan Electric Manufacturing.
"This indicates the locations of the trains," said Xiao Jin Yu of Harbin Metro.
Junji Kimura of Railway Signal Division of Kyosan Electric MFG. Co. said, "CBTC, the radio controlled train management system is mainly used in China. We have adopted the Train Track Circuit System for this line. It has high reliability, safety and easy access for maintenance. The system has been proved and installed at many railway lines in Japan such as the Shinkansen Rapid Train. We have successfully proven our technology to meet the requirements of Harbin Metro."
Kyosan's Train Control System is configured from sub-systems of SSI-electronic interlocking device, ATP-Automatic Train Protection equipment, ATO-Automatic Train Operation equipment and ATC-Automatic Train Control on board equipment.
Authorities in Harbin are planning to extend city's metro by building two more lines by 2018. The Japanese companies are extending their base in Asia.
On June 26, a new optical submarine network landed in Japan's Ise Shima Peninsula, connecting the country to Singapore. In Asia, the need for new submarine cables network is growing.
This line consists of APG - The Asia Pacific Gateway submarine cable network, expanding 11,000 kilometers by linking Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore.
Mikio Yoshioka of Submarine Network Division, NEC Corporation, said, "The construction of APG cable network is being conducted on a full turn-key basis by NEC, one of the three suppliers of submarine cable systems. Over the years, NEC has laid more than 200,000 kilometers of submarine cables, as equivalent to five times around the globe."
With the growing use of social media network, distributions of video contents and utilization of cloud computing, the demand for international data transaction bandwidth continues to rise.
This increases the need to build new submarine cables network.
Comparing to the conventional satellite, the ultra speed submarine cable now accounts for 99 per cent of the international data traffic.
"NEC is proud to be a part of this project and would like to thank to NTT Communications, the owner of Shima landing station, while we complete the construction of this project," added Yoshioka.
The latest multi-core optical fiber cable utilizes the latest technology with the large capacity data transmission capacity of 80 Tera Bit - per second.
The ultra high-speed capacity of 80 Tera Bit is equal to which can hold 12.4 Billion telephone calls at the same time or which is able to transfer 2100 of DVD contents in one single second.
Utilizing the state-of the art technology, The APG cable network is expected to become the communication backbone for intra-Asia traffic and beyond.
