Infosys, an IT major, on Wednesday, announced a collaboration with GE, a digital industry company, to create new Internet of Things (IoT) solutions which will help derive benefit from huge data generated through connected devices in the industrial enterprises.

"The Industrial Internet Consortium was established to help organisations break down the barriers of technology silos and support better integration of the physical and digital worlds.", said Bill Ruh, Chief Digital Officer, GE Digital, in a statement.

As per the statement, the Asset Efficiency Testbed will enable the holistic monitoring, analysis and optimisation of critical infrastructure assets.

The Industrial Digital Thread Testbed, will help in creating intelligent linkages between three phases of manufacturing- design, production and field testing/service.

Talking about the partnership, Vishal Sikka, Chief Executive Officer, Infosys, said "The value comes from bringing intelligence directly to the end-points, and in doing this we can completely reimagine the notion of industrial manufacturing, and every industry, and we look forward to doing much more in our work with GE in these areas."
