India's second largest automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Ltd. posted a marginal fall in car sales by 10.9 % on Monday. The quarterly report stated that the steep fall of 10.9 % was recorded in November 2013 car sales as compared to sales logged by Hyundai November 2012.

In a statement issued on Monday, the company said that it had sold 49,681 units (domestic 33,501 units, exports 16,180 units) last month, down from 55,762 units (domestic 34,751 units, exports 21,011 units) logged in November 2012.

"After the festival season, market has been sluggish due to unfavourable macro-economic factors and the low market sentiments resulting into lower customer enquiries," Rakesh Srivastava, Hyundai, senior vice-president, sales and marketing said.

According to him, the company sold 11,007 units of its new model Grand last month. The sales of automobile vehicles have been picking up slowly after the Indian markets witnessed sluggish growth after a dilly-dallying rupee and fall in exports from India.
