While Vijay Mallya contests that he has not fled the country and travels frequently out of the country as an international businessman, a report in a leading daily has said that Mallya flew out of the country in the comfort of the first class service of a Jet Airways flight with seven bags, and accompanied by a woman.

On one hand, the consortium of 17 lenders to Kingfisher Airlines and Vijay Mallya were moving the apex court to stop the initial $40 million payout to him from Diageo, while on the other hand, the business tycoon had left the country on March 2 in a Delhi to London Jet Airways flight 9W 112. Reports suggest that he flew out with seven bags, and accompanied by a woman.

On early Friday morning, Mallya took to Twitter to say that he was not absconding and hadn't fled the country. He also said that he was an international businessman and travels in and out the country frequently.
