Forbes says Azim Premji, Shiv Nadar among tech world's 20 richest

Forbes magazine's inaugural list of 20 richest tech honchos has two Indians -- Wipro Chairman Azim Premji and HCL founder Shiv Nadar.

Premji and Nadar are ranked 13th and 14th on the Forbes' first ever list of '100 Richest People In Tech.

Two Indian-origin technology czars Romesh Wadhwani and Bharat Desai are also in the list.

Seventy-year-old Premji's net worth has been pegged at $17.4 billion, while Nadar's net worth has been pegged at $14.4 billion.

Wadhwani, the CEO and Chairman of Symphony Technology Group, is ranked 73rd with a $2.8 billion.

Desai and his family have been ranked 82nd with a net worth of $2.5 billion.

American billionaires occupy 51 of the 100 slots, while 33 are occupied by tech barons from Asia.

Microsaft's Bill Gates has ben ranked first in the list with a net worth of $79.6 billion and is followed by Oracle chairman and CTO Ellison with a net worth estimated at $50 billion.
Jeff Bezos is ranked third in the list.

The list includes Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg at four, Google co-founder Larry Page at five and Alibaba chief Jack Ma at seven.

Seven women are also listed, and the wealthiest of them is Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Apple's late chief Steve Jobs, with an estimated net worth of 21.4 billion dollars.
