E-commerce major Flipkart today said its chief technology officer Amod Malviya will move to an advisory role at the company, and its engineering head Sameer Nigam has quit.
Nigam is going to start his own venture. Malviya, on the other hand, will now be a part of the advisory board that Flipkart has constituted to help manage the direct fast-paced growth that the company is witnessing.

A company spokesperson confirmed the development.

Flipkart had recently roped in Unilever executive Sudhir Sitapati as the first member of the advisory board.

The company is looking to bring in people with specific skills in areas like leadership strategy, technology and operations as Flipkart fights rivals in the hyper-competitive Indian e-retail sector.

Last year, Flipkart had rejigged its top management with Mukesh Bansal taking over the responsibilities of running the e-commerce business.

Co-founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal are focusing on new businesses like advertising and supply chain.
