Flipkart hires new CFO for commercial platform, tax man

E-commerce major Flipkart has appointed Sriram Vekataraman as the CFO, commerce platform and Pramod Jain as vice-president, head, taxation, a TOI report has said. 

Sriram, as the CFO, commerce platform, will handle all the aspects of finance for the platform, including steering the business towards its goals. 

Sriram was previously with Unilever, holding various leadership roles over 19 years, in the Asia-Africa region. 

Pramod Jain joined Flipkart as the Vice President and Head of Taxation, will play a key role in engaging the tax teams with revenue and government authorities.

Prior to this, Jain was working with Indus Towers Limited, the world's largest telecom tower company and a joint venture of Airtel, Vodafone and Idea, as VP Taxation for over five years. Before that, he was with Dell and Xerox. Jain is a chartered accountant and a lawyer by profession.

Flipkart recently hired technology experts from Google, Amazon and Microsoft. This included Dan Rawson, former Amazon.com General Manager of Fulfillment in North America, has been appointed as Head of Customer Logistics and Supply Chain Ecosystems; Ravi Dyakod, head of engineering at Google, has been appointed at the head of accounting technology at Flipkart; and Anand Lakshminarayanan was the Principal Group Program Manager of Applications and Services at Microsoft, has been appointed as the head of product management for digital goods and services at Flipkart.
