E-commerce giant, Flipkart has appointed two new members for its technology team -- Ravi Krishnaswamy has been appointed as the vice president of Engineering for Infrastructure, and Sharat Singh as vice president of Engineering for Content.
E-commerce giant, Flipkart has appointed two new members for its technology team -- Ravi Krishnaswamy has been appointed as the vice president of Engineering for Infrastructure, and Sharat Singh as vice president of Engineering for Content.
Flipkart has said that the two new appointments have been made to strengthen its technology team.
Before joining Flipkart, Ravi Krishnaswamy was with Microsoft, and led the Azure team in building Microsoft's cloud OS platform.
As the VP of Engineering for Infrastructure, he will focus on strengthening operations across IAAS (Infrastructure as a Service) and PAAS (Platform as a Service), and evaluate the challenges associated with organization design and bandwidth for Flipkart.
Commenting on the appointment, Peeyush Ranjan, CTO and Head of engineering, Flipkart said, “Ravi’s expertise in this field and valuable know-how will certainly be an asset to the technology team at Flipkart. His many achievements in the previous organizations have made us confident that we will deeply benefit from his expansive technical and management expertise.”
On the other hand, Sharat Singh was the chief technology officer at MakeMyTrip before this assignment, where he was responsible for developing and executing technology strategy globally and planning innovations in technology.
At Flipkart, Singh will be leading the CMS Engineering team which includes CMS Data Management, Quality, Content Relevance, Development and Creation.
