The domestic stock markets and the money market will remain shut on Monday on the occasion of Diwali Balipratipada, which falls a day after Diwali.

On Sunday, the one hour festive mahurat trading, which takes place every year, remained subdued. In early trade, the markets opened above the 28,000-mark, but later closed at 27,930.21 on profit booking. The mahurat trading accounts for the first session of Samvat 2073.

In the week, the BSE and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be tracking the outcome of the US Federal Reserve meet.

In the money market, the rupee faces pressure of a $18 billion forex outflow in November as repayment for the FCNR(B) deposit schemes. According to an earlier dna report, the central bank is in a position to safeguard from any volatility up to $10 billion.

The repayment is for the dollars that were mobilised to stabilise a falling rupee in 2013, which is now due for redemption.
