Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry on Wednesday lauded the Central Government's vision of Digital India, adding that the initiative has been received overwhelmingly by the IT industry.
"The Government of India's Digital India programme has been received overwhelmingly and with enthusiasm by the industry. I would like to congratulate the Prime Minister on giving the vision to this country, prompt focus on creating a strong digital infrastructure utility providing governance and service in real time and digitally empowering citizens," Mistry said at the launch of the mission.
"The Tata group has been a pioneer in digital revolution right form 1985. It has since continued its investment into digital technologies," he added.
Digital India aims to transform the country into a digitally empowered knowledge economy.
