A Coimbatore-based software company has developed a humanoid which can answer your queries in 15 languages.
In the midst of the chaos ensued by the government's move to demonetize Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, a Coimbatore-based software company has developed a humanoid robot to answer bank FAQs and given information about exisitng bank accounts, ANI said on Saturday morning.
Vijay Engineering has developed a humanoid robot which, apart from the aforementioned features, can also give details about flight arrivals, departures, PNR status, and so on, according to ANI, and would be deployed at banks and airports soon.
"The robot can walk, dance, sing, sit down, and respond to any questions in more than 15 languages," ANI said. The robot may also be deployed at government departments to ease the workload, the report added.
“This robot helps bank customers by telling them how to open account and also gives info (information) of existing accounts, understands 15 languages” Vijay Engineering told ANI.
On November 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi moved to decommission the use of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes which has led to a cash crunch in the country. At Rs 14 lakh crore, the move sucked out 86% currency from the system overnight (in value terms).

Bank employees have been working overtime to meet the liquidity requirements of the people, within the limits of the mandates issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Banks have hired more employees and many more ancillary workers have been working overtime to recalibrate over two lakh ATMs with the legal tenders.
As per the Reserve Bank of India, one can withdraw up to Rs 24,000 per week from their bank accounts, with withdrawal limit from ATMs at up to Rs 2,500 per day (at recalibrated ATMs).
