Delhi taxi, auto wallahs threaten indefinite strike over Uber, Ola

Taxi and auto rickshaw unions in New Delhi have threatened to go on an indefinite sit-in strike if their demands over app-based taxi services, aren't met by the government, an Economic Times report said. 

The unions threaten to hold a sit-in strike in front of the Delhi Secretariat. 

According to the report, the taxi unions want a ban on app-based taxi services like Uber and Ola, in the national capital, and are also asking for their other demands to be met.

For this, the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) and the All Delhi Auto Taxi Transporter's Congress (ADATTC), have threatened to go on a strike from July 25. 

However, they say, if the government fails to meet their demands despite the call, then the strike will be made indefinite, the report says. 

The report quoted a member of BMS saying that the government is too lenient with them (app-based services).
