"It is a welcome step to limit the individual cash donations to political parties at Rs 2000 and contribution above this limit to be received through digital modes or the electoral bonds to be issued by the RBI," Chouhan said in his reaction to the Union budget presented in Parliament today.
He said the proposal would bring in "transparency and cleanliness in politics."
The CM termed the budget "holistic and intending to transform India". "Budget will strengthen states, the federal system and the economy will get a new lease of life in digital form," he added.
Chouhan said the budget has taken care of development of each segment of society.
"This budget reflects the vision of collective development and radical steps have been taken for the welfare of farmers. This budget will be instrumental in building an integrated economy of India," he added.
He said the proposed dairy processing infrastructure development fund will help cattle-rearers and farmers in Madhya Pradesh.
He said states would also benefit from funds to the tune of Rs 5000-crore for micro irrigation infrastructure.
"Over the next five years, these provisions will help double the income of farmers. The proposed new legislation for contract farming will immensely benefit the farmers," the CM said, adding the Indian International Skill Development centres would pave the way for generating employment for youths.
On Railway budget, Chouhan said abolishing the service charge on online railway ticket booking is a major step.
"Waiving off the service charge on online ticket booking will promote cashless transaction on one hand and give relief to passengers on the other," he said.
Among other proposals in budget, Chouhan said the tax relief for small companies will help promote small and micro enterprises on a large scale.
"In addition, the relief to the individual income tax will also be a big relief to common people," he added.
