BSE's Sensex closes 115.97 points up, Nifty up 37.25

Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 115.97 points up to end on 28,208.76.

At the National Stock Exchange (NIFTY), it was 37.25 points up at the close to stand at 8,522.15.

Essar Oil and Jet Airways were among the top gainers in Group A for the day, with an increase of 17.64% and 11.27% respectively.

TV18 Broadcast Ltd.and Welcorp registered increases of 8.74% and 8.30% respectively on the bourse.

The top losers in Group A included VEDL and Infratel, which registered decreases of 4.45% and 3.22% respectively.

The Rajesh Expo and Hathway with a decrease of 2.68% and 2.14 percent at the close of the markets.

The auto sector is up 52.55 points at 19,023.00 while the banking sector is up 106.87 points at 21,612.03 and the realty sector is up 10.56 points at 1,434.37.

The Indian currency was down 0.07 percent at Rs 63.46 per dollar.
