Bakery and dairy products maker Britannia Industries reported a 5.79% increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 233.95 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 221.13 crore in July-September period a year-ago, Britannia Industries said in a BSE filing.
Britannia's consolidated total income from operations was up 11.45% to Rs 2,456.10 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 2,203.71 crore of the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
Its total expenses were up 12.56% to Rs 2,146.14 crore as against Rs 1,906.53 crore.
In the first half of 2016-17, Britannia Industries' consolidated net profit was up 9.34% to Rs 453.08 crore as against Rs 414.37 crore in the year-ago period.
Its net sales in the first half of the current fiscal were up 10.31% at Rs 4,652.72 crore as against Rs 4,217.55 crore in the same period last year.
Shares of Britannia Industries settled 0.10% up at Rs 3,303.20 on BSE.
