Britannia appoints YSP Thorat,Ajay Singh as addnl directors

Bakery and dairy product maker Britannia Industries today announced appointment of former NABARD chairman YSP Thorat and economist Ajay Singh as additional directors.

"The Board of Directors... has appointed Dr. YSP Thorat and Dr. Ajay Singh as additional directors of the company with effect from 13th February, 2017...," the company said in a regulatory filing.

Thorat retired as a chairman of NABARD in November 2007, and is currently a director of Tata Chemicals. Besides, he was associated with the planning commission for the 10th and 11th five year plans.

Singh is a professor at National Institute of Public Finance and Policy. He has held positions at the Ministry of Finance, among others. (MORE)
