Belgian Mission gives CSR a leg-up

The Belgian Economic Mission last week held a seminar in the city to discuss corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Indian businesses and Belgium’s role in the same. This came close on the heels of the new Companies Bill that was passed in Parliament in August, which put CSR back in the spotlight. 

Presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium, the seminar was hosted by the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Belgium, in partnership with a host of agencies. Several agreements were signed during the seminar in areas like food products, technology, logistics, water treatment equipment and medical awareness.

A panel discussion focused on how Belgian companies investing in India could build a more sustainable and inclusive economy.
