What do you do when things are going against you? Some are defiant, some fight hard and some become philosophical, vowing to fight back hard.

Vijay Mallya evidently belongs to the third bracket. On a day when Enforcement Directorate attached properties worth Rs 1,411 crore of Vijay Mally and United Breweries group in the IDBI Bank loan default case, the liquor baron tweets took on a philosophical tone with a touch of melancholy.

Mallya quoted the author Vivian Greene in the tweet and pinned it to his Twitter page:

Later, he continued retweeting news about Formula One, the India-Zimbabwe tour. In the past, Mallya has projected a brave face on Twitter, repeatedly saying he is not an absconder and will cooperate with the agencies. But Mallya has increasingly found himself cornered in connection with Kingfisher Airlines, owing about Rs 9,000 crores to various banks.

An Enforcement Directorate (ED) official said on Saturday, "We have attached properties worth Rs 1,411 crore (as per the market value) of Vijay Mallya and UB Limited under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act." The assets under "provisional attachment" included bank balance of Rs 34 crore, a flat each in Bengaluru and Mumbai (2,291 sqft and 1,300 sqft, respectively), an industrial plot in Chennai (4.5 acres), a coffee plantation land in Coorg (28.75 acres), and residential and commercial constructed areas in UB CITY and Kingfisher Tower in Bengaluru (84,0279 sqft).

Mallya left India on March 2.
