AISATS pumps Rs 57 crore in new GSE for Delhi airport

Air India SATS Airport Services Pvt. Ltd. (AISATS), a subsidiary of national carrier Air India, has further invested Rs 57 crore in new Ground Support Equipment (GSE) at the Delhi IGI Airport.

Air India SATS Airport Services Pvt. Ltd. (AISATS), a subsidiary of national carrier Air India, has further invested Rs 57 crore in new Ground Support Equipment (GSE) at the Delhi IGI Airport.

The investment is a part of Rs 85 crore invested in GSE by AISATS in the past one year. The officials said that GSE deployed will not only enhance service delivery standards but also improve operational efficiency and compliance with local airport regulations. As per the figures available, AISATS currently handles around 50% of scheduled flights daily at Delhi airport, which is considered as India's busiest airport.

Willy Ko, CEO, AISATS said, "Certainly the "Made in India" vision offers many opportunities for AISATS, its employees and partners. While we will continue to relentlessly look for new business opportunities, we are continuously strengthening our existing operations. Since our incorporation five years ago, we have invested more than 160 crores rupees in Ground Support Equipment."

AISATS is a 50:50 joint venture between Air India Limited, and Singapore Airport Terminal Services Limited (SATS), a leading gateway services and food solutions provider in Asia. The company provides ground and cargo handling for the airlines at Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mangalore and Trivandrum. Currently employing over 7,000 staff, AISATS offers end-to-end ground handling services such as passenger and baggage handling, ramp handling, aircraft interior cleaning, load control, etc.
