The fastest Aston Martin to date, the new Vantage S combines a V12 engine with a very light sports car.
The V12 Vantage S is considered to be the most ferocious Aston Martin ever produced. It weighs 15 kilos lighter than its predecessor, the V12 Vantage and has 573PS of power, 620Nm of peak torque. With enhanced low and mid-range power the new-generation AM28 engine pushes the V12 Vantage S to a top speed of 205 mph, creating the fastest series production model ever made by Aston Martin.
Sportshift III, a new seven-speed AMT transaxle gearbox was specifically designed to tap the potency of V12 Vantage S for s weamless gear changes at high engine speeds. Advanced light-touch paddle shifts ensure maximum driver control as both hands remain on the wheel.
A transmission derived from the Vantage GT programme brings motorsport engineering and race-car capability to the road. With three-stage adaptive damping, all new carbon ceramic brakes and unique track-mode with delayed anti-lock braking technology, it facilitates control even at high speeds.
When it comes to styling, the bold new carbon fibre grille marries design and engineering to improve airflow while defining a more aggressive front profile. A new roof and rear graphics packs, lightweight forged alloy wheels and new interior finishes on seats, doors and controls complete the package.
Inspired by the Vantage GT race programme the classic Aston Martin shape remains, with optional black or titanium mesh creating distinctive appearances. The iconic four vent bonnet structure has been re-engineered for V12 Vantage S. All four louvres are positioned to provide maximum cooling for the all-new AM28 engine, their exact position designed to complement the car’s athletic stance yet never overpower from any angle.
The new V12 Vantage S should cost $187820 (about Rs 12208300) when it goes on sale in early 2014.
