Four Tata Group companies will vote to decide the fate of ex-Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry and Independent Director Nusli Wadia from the board of four group companies this week.

The companies are, Indian Hotels Company Ltd, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, and Tata Chemicals.

While Indian Hotels will hold its Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on December 20 to seek Mistry's removal, Tata Steel will hold its meet on December 21; Tata Motors on December 23, while Tata Chemicals will hold its EGM on December 23. The meetings will also decide the fate of independent director Nusli Wadia on the companies' boards.

In the coming week, Tata Power is slated to hold a similar EGM on December 26.

Mistry has already been removed from the boards of Tata Industries and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). He was removed as the chairman of Tata Sons in late October in a boardroom meeting that has led to a war between the ex-Tata head and Ratan Tata. Tata has taken over as the interim chairman, while a new one is picked for the company.

Wadia, who spoke out in support of Mistry and questioned his removal saw the 103-year-old conglomerate seeking his removal as independent director from group companies. Wadia has since filed a Rs 3,000-crore defamation suit against the company.
