The sleek-and-slim 7-inch HCL ME V1 tablet is well-built and offers its users effective touch-screen experience and built-in calling facility. The device contains integrated voice receiver and integrated call vibrate option and is very much like a smartphone.
Priced Rs7,999, the tablet runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. It also offers integrted GPRS/EDGE connectivity so users can get online on the go. However, it does not support 3G data transfer.
The 2.0 MP back camera works fine even in normal light and the device also offers 0.3MP front camera for video chat.
The device sports a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor with a GC430 graphics card and has a WVGA display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. It also has a mini HDMI port.
It offers 4GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot through which it can be expanded up to 32 GB.
However, the device does not feature Google Play and thus users will end up downloading applications through HCL’s ME app store. Also, the battery back-up of the device is average.
