A delegation from China TexMatch, a Jingwei Group company, on Tuesday called upon the CM, and discussed modalities of setting up a plant in the state.

Close on the heels of chief minister Narendra Modi's visit to China, Jingwei Group, a leading Chinese manufacturer of high-tech textile machinery, has expressed keenness in setting up a manufacturing plant in the state.

A delegation from China TexMatch, a Jingwei Group company, on Tuesday called upon the CM, and discussed modalities of setting up a plant in the state.

The delegation was led by Wu Xiuhua, vice-president of China TexMatch, who praised the state government's approach and efforts in creating a favourable atmosphere for attracting investment.

However, state government officials said that the company was also exploring other locations, including Tamil Nadu, MP and Maharashtra, for its manufacturing plant.

"Jingwei is a big name, and we are hopeful that it will select Gujarat for setting up its plant," said a state official.
