After Indra Nooyi, chairman and CEO of cola major PepsiCo Inc and Vikram Pandit, CEO of Citigroup, another Indian is set ready to take charge of a multinational. Rakesh Kapoor has been named CEO of British consumer goods major Reckitt Benckiser that sells Dettol, Durex and Harpic brands.
Kapoor, 52, worked with Reckitt for 25 years in India, the UK and northern Europe. He will replace Bart Becht from September 1, 2011.
An MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur, he played a key role in helping the group acquire Boots Healthcare International, SSL International Plc and India’s Paras Pharmaceuticals.
