More good news. This will soon be followed by New Moon, the next film in the Twilight series slated to hit the big screen early next month.
Reflecting the excitement, social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Orkut as well as other online portals including You Tube are abuzz with various Twilight groups and discussions. Facebook alone has 20 groups, each with 100 to over thousand members.
Sixteen-year-old Himadri Vyas, a self-confessed Twilight fan who has read all the four books in the series, says, "After watching Twilight, what I am really excited about is the thrill of watching New Moon. I have watched every trailer of New Moon online."
PVR Pictures has already lined up a spate of online activities, contests, and freebies for Twilight fans which includes special first day-first show tickets of New Moon. "For this age group, Twilight is like what Harry Potter was for the previous generation," says Ranjan Singh, worldwide marketing head, PVR Pictures.
It must be noted that the female following is considerably higher, thanks to the vampire-hottie Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson in the film. "He is so caring and loving. He is a vampire who is more human than most human beings," says Manasi Jasani, a fan. "He is the kind of person the girls want their boyfriends to be," says Vyas.
Here's a heads-up for parents, then, just in case a vampire look-alike comes calling at home. You'll know who to blame.
