Vodafone Australia has confirmed that the Android 7.1.0 software update for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ is arriving soon. The company has listed various smartphones which will receive the update and both devices are a part of it.

However, the list is particularly for Australia, and no information has been provided as to when the update will roll out to other regions.

Recently, Samsung also introduced its voice-based assistant Bixby, powered by AI to Galaxy S8 and S8+ users in English in the US. Up until now, the service was only available in South Korea, supporting the Korean language.

To enable Bixby’s voice-based capabilities, Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners can press the Bixby button to begin onboarding, starting July 18. Once the software is updated, users can activate Bixby by holding the dedicated button on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ phones, or by simply saying, “Hi, Bixby.” The Bixby update will be available from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and US Cellular.
