Andy Rubin, co-creator of the Android operating system had teased a ‘bezel-less smartphone’ from his company, Essential on Twitter in March this year. Now, the company’s official Twitter account sent out its first tweet and announced that ‘something big’ will be unveiled on May 30.

Essential stated via a tweet, "We're here to let you know something big is coming May 30th! Stay tuned..." This suggests that the company will most likely introduce the smartphone worldwide. It could also make an announcement regarding the specifications of the device. However, nothing is mentioned clearly by the company.

In another tweet, the company posted an image which focuses on the outline of the device. Additionally, there is a spherical extension placed on the top which appears to be a camera lens on the smartphone.

In March, Andy Rubin posted s teaser image of the phone on Twitter. The entire device wasn’t revealed and only the corner of the device had been disclosed. It looks like it will sport a large bezel-less display. Even though there is no confirmation, the white text icons which mention the battery, time, and network on the screen imply that the new Essential smartphone will most likely run Android OS.

The startup will be relying strongly on hype building up based on Rubin’s pedigree and Essential seems to have a strong team to do just that after hiring the expectation-heightening VP of PR and VP of Marketing from the embattled augmented reality juggernaut Magic Leap to lead efforts, points out a report.
