Pakistan will be really happy with their performance in the first session of the game. After being put into bowl, Amir and Abbas were given the responsibility with the new ball. They were breathing fire and gave away nothing to the West Indian batsmen. Brathwaite and Hetmyer got out to some sensational seam bowling while Powell somehow managed to survive it.
Yasir Shah was introduced into the attack and he soon got rewarded by bowling consistent lengths as Hope was the man to be dismissed. The debutant Shadab Khan also stepped up, got quite some purchase due to moisture but the likes of Powell and Chase managed to see out the tricky period. Shane Dowrich came in and along with Chase put up a fighting stand of 47 runs but it was eventually ended by Shadab Khan who got his first Test wicket. The latter is batting on 70 and needs to carry on for the home side. He will need support from the lower order who haven't disappointed in the past. A terrific comeback from West Indies and they have pulled things back in their favour to some extent. They were 166/6 at Tea and things were looking a bit gloomy for them. Hello and a warm welcome for Day 2 of the second Test match between West Indies and Pakistan at the Kensington Oval, Barbados. The hosts will be pleased with the way they have come back into the contest. Roston Chase and the skipper, Jason Holder are setting a good example on how to plan an innings. West Indies have posted a decent total on the board. After electing to bat, they struggled to start positively with the bat. They lost three quick wickets at the top. Kieran Powell played a fighting knock but was soon sent back by Amir. Chase and Holder were the mainstays and they were the main reason the hosts were able to cross the 300-run mark. The former got onto score his second Test century while the latter also registered a fifty.
The visitors were impeccable with the ball in the first couple of sessions of Day 1 but they lost their track back in the final session only to come back stronger today. The pace duo of Amir and Abbas struck in their respective first overs of the second day to exploit the tail-enders. Yasir Shah provided the last nail of the coffin to send back Joseph. Pakistan will now walk out with the bat and will look to bat with authority and post a good first innings score while West Indies will want some
