| Pakistan will be really happy with their performance in the first session of the game. After being put into bowl, Amir and Abbas were given the responsibility with the new ball. They were breathing fire and gave away nothing to the West Indian batsmen. Brathwaite and Hetmyer got out to some sensational seam bowling while Powell somehow managed to survive it. |
| Yasir Shah was introduced into the attack and he soon got rewarded by bowling consistent lengths as Hope was the man to be dismissed. The debutant Shadab Khan also stepped up, got quite some purchase due to moisture but the likes of Powell and Chase managed to see out the tricky period. | West Indies have posted a decent total on the board. After electing to bat, they struggled to start positively with the bat. They lost three quick wickets at the top. Kieran Powell played a fighting knock but was soon sent back by Amir. Chase and Holder were the mainstays and they were the main reason the hosts were able to cross the 300-run mark.
