| A very good batting performance by Pakistan and they will be the happier side heading into the break after being put into bat. They lost Shehzad early but Babar Azam who scored a brilliant ton played the anchoring role. He was supported well by Hafeez and Zaman but his 139-run stand with Malik which came in less than a run-a-ball was the highlight of the innings. |
| Sri Lanka on the other hand, started off really well but could not continue to build the pressure. Perera and Dananjaya were quite expensive. Gamage also, took some beating towards the end.
