0.0 : Hello and welcome to the first day of the fourth and the final Test of this series between India and Australia. First things first, the big news has arrived. Virat Kohli has not fully recovered and will miss out on the decider. In his absence, it will be Ajinkya Rahane who will lead the side. Coming to the other talking points, Kuldeep Yadav has received his Test cap and will make his debut. A move that must have been taken keeping Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja's workloads. TOSS - Australia win the toss and opt to bat! Australia are unchanged. India have made a couple of changes - Kuldeep Yadav comes in for Virat Kohli while Ishant Sharma is dropped for Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Australia skipper, Steven Smith informs that they will bat first. Admits that the stage is really set for the decider, it is a beautiful place to play. States that the facilities have been really good and the pitch is good, he informs. Thinks that the deck has a more covering of grass compared to other venues. Expects more bounce but also adds that he has been wrong in assessing the pitch so can't be sure. Says that there are a bit of cracks which will help the spinners.
India skipper, Ajinkya Rahane informs that Virat Kohli has opted out since he is not 100 percent fit. Informs that they were looking to bat first as well. Does not expect the deck to change much. Informs that they are playing five bowlers as he expects the pitch to be good for the first few days. Confesses the preparations have been good and is confident of players stepping up in the absence of Virat Kohli.
The Indian team are in a huddle and the country's 33rd Test captain Ajinkya Rahane is giving a pep talk before they take their positions. David Warner and Matt Renshaw are out at the centre too. Rahane tosses the new ball to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. 3 slips and a gully in place.

What a thumping start to the Test for Australia! They have scored as many as 131 runs in the first session itself and let India know that things are not going to be as easy as they might have expected to be. While Warner has taken his time after being given a life, Smith has been his usual self, scoring at a brisk rate all the while.

After losing the toss and their captain Virat Kohli to injury, this Indian side has done tremendously well to dismiss Australia for 300. And the star has been the debutant Kuldeep Yadav. He picked four wickets and absolutely punctured the middle order of the visitors in the second session. But amidst the storm, it was Steven Smith doing his business as usual. He slammed his 20th Test ton, third of the series to ensure that his side doesn't bundle out under 300.
Being 208/6 at Tea, one wondered whether the tourists will get to 300. But Matthew Wade stepped up and was well supported by the tailenders as he hit his fourth half century. David Warner also registered his fifty of the series. All the Indian bowlers were among the wicket and must be happy with their efforts. India will bat for one over. Be back in a bit.
