Get ready to battle the heat minus the sweat.

Avoid that roadside bite

Summer has started so the season for cough-cold and seasonal flu is on a diminishing trend. The summer brings in new round of diseases and these new troubles are severe gastroenteritis, and jaundice.

Dr Pragnesh Vachchrajani, V-P of Ahmedabad Medical Association and secretary for Gujarat Family Physician Forum, said: “The onset of summer has brought with it the usual rise in cases for gastroenteritis and jaundice. However, these cases have just started flowing in; they have not reached to its seasonal peak.”

Medical experts do warn against eating out at small roadside eateries. Vachchrajani says: “I strongly urge citizens to avoid eating out. One must smell and check the items, before consuming. Drinking sugarcane juices and eating golas made out of dirty water also leads to medical complications.”
