The launch of the Ambani family-owned jewellery store on Hughes Road was a sparkling affair. Row upon row of glittering baubles set in antique gold witnessed one of the largest assemblages of South Mumbai’s well-heeled women, at this champagne evening. Nita, Ambani dressed in a vibrant green dress matched with an emerald and diamond rings and earrings of remarkable size, personally welcomed all her guests. Later the ladies — including Arti Surendranath , Indu Shahani, Lillete Dubey, Chhaya Momaya, Bijal and Elina Meswani and Lata Patel — witnessed Jesse Randhawa, Dipannita Sharma, Dipti Gujral and Anchal Kumar modelling some of the creations (two jewellery sets caught the fancy of Nita herself and were promptly set aside). Also present were the other Ambani women — Kokilaben, Dipti Salgaonkar and Nita’s sister Mamta Dalal, while the shy Ambani heiress Isha also made a rare appearance.
