The faithful gathered to seek Sathya Sai Baba's blessings as Sonu Nigam belted out bhajans in a complete switch from his Bollywood musical avatar. Among the numbers he sung were Sukh ke sab saathi, dukh mein na koi and Sai naath tere hazaaron haath.

The atmosphere certainly seemed a tad somber as Shaina NC, Sivamani, Hariharan, Kunal Ganjalwala, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, came together at the fore of a several thousand strong crowd, all in the search for inner peace. It was indeed ironical that the event was held at the National Stock Exchange Grounds, the temple of wealth, so to speak. Is it a case of material well being meeting the spiritual, we wonder…
