St. Xavier's College celebrated its 140th anniversary along with distinguished alumini and the launch of a coffee table book commemorating the same.

Vidya Balan, who was present for the occasion, recalled how nervous she was when she had walked into the college on her very first day. "I walked into the canteen and still remember the unconditional acceptance by the canteen guy whose name was Anand. Somehow I just feel that you can handle anything in the world if you can walk into the Xavier's canteen with your head held high," she said.

Singer Gary Lawyer sang a song with lyrics 'I did it my way' and percussion specialist Taufiq Qureshi was nostalgic about how his attendance used to be less than 5 percent always.
Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas from the batch of 1972 reminisced about the days when several of the boys doted on a pretty girl. The singer confessed that the same girl was Preeti Sagar who later went on to become a singer.
