If you thought that nothing creative could be done about saris, this show was proof to the contrary. What stole the show were the heavy embroidery on the saris, all of which we hear are done by Rajasthani craftsmen. Sticking to the grand bridal wear, the saris and lehengas shone with extremely intricate workmanship done on them. Gotta patti, Swarovski crystals, ivory, ceramics, semi-precious stones, Belgium-sequence sprays and ari-resham rosette work were all used and evidently, the heavy saris were a sight to behold and would make for that perfect wedding wear. The work on the saris were reminiscent of the Eden garden with flowers, fruits, birds and shells as the motifs. There was one sari that even had mother-of-pearl sewed on! The colours for the traditional wear ranged from different shades of greens to beiges, pinks and blues. Showstopper Sayali Bhagat brought the grand show to a befitting end in a polki-encrusted pink lehenga.

What’s hot: The extremely well done embroidery on each and every sari. The bikini blouses added a bit of sensuousness to the look.

What’s not: The extreme richness of the clothes were a little too much for one show.
