The racing season kick-started with the Tote on the Turf Million and the La Ditta Japan Trophy. There was a gastronomic add on with La Ditta offering an array of scrumptious sushi for guests and members. Rahul Akerkar’s restaurant on its part organised a race for three-year-old horses to celebrate the spirit of the season. The verdant background of the race course saw the glitterati sashay in their racing best this lazy Sunday afternoon. Raell Padamsee twiddled with a pink hat while Rashmi Uday Singh played safe and brought her sun umbrella along to beat the sun. A live band belted out jazz numbers and there was a theme party for the toddlers —from pinning the tail on horses to bobbing for apples. Simone Singh was there with hubby Fahad Samar. Azeem Khan came with wife Sameena. Gaurav and Pratima Bhatia seemed to be enjoying themselves too.
