There were some emotional moments for Om Puri, during the release of his biography Unlikely Hero written by wife Nandita. After all  the mud-slinging that had ensued following a ‘leak’ of his autobiographical details, Puri did say to the audience how he was pained about being ‘tainted’ by just two paragraphs in the book. He was at his sarcastic best.
The star of the evening was of course his son Ishaan who stood by his mother Nandita and read out the chapter he had written for his dad. Amitabh Bachchan formally released the book and read out three chapters from it.
Girish Karnad was present as were Adnan and Azaan Sami, Talat and Bina Aziz, Anup Jalota, Manmohan Shetty, Vijaypat Singhania, Ila Arun, Prasoon Pandey and others. While Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra sent flowers from LA, Shyam Benegal sent Om a message during the event that  his wife Neera was representing him.

Taking centre stage: Amitabh Bachchan, Nandita and Om Puri
