Celebrities provide their unique take on the language and their favourite catch phrases.

Anjan, RJ and MC

My take:
These days, there’s one habit amongst youngsters I find extremely irritating and that’s when they eat up the vowels, especially when they are typing in messages. Call me a grammar nazi but I think murdering language just for the sake of saving time is not done. I’ll say, in the world of 160 characters don’t murder English!

A phrase I use:

I keep saying ‘cool’ often. Other than that, I thankfully don’t have any favourite phrases or words that I repeat. Radio is a very interesting medium where I have people pointing to me when I have repeated a word twice. When I am on air, it’s always “planned spontaneity”.

Only heard in Bengaluru:

Words like ‘lauv’ ( for ‘love’) or ‘vokay’ are very Bangalorean and I guess we say it the way we say it because Kannada is close to Tamil in the way words are pronounced.  Maga is another very Kannada/ Bangalore word.
