Mumbai’s enduring image as the nation’s glamour capital will be underlined tonight as all roads lead to the DNA After Hrs Style Awards 2010, presented by Volkswagen. The Intercontinental, The Lalit, is where we honour the best and brightest of India’s glamouratti.

Four eminent judges — Karan Johar, Shobhaa De, Ujjwala Raut and Manish Malhotra — known for their pathbreaking style quotient have deliberated over days to choose the winners in over 20 categories that span the lifestyle canvas: society, film, corporate world, politics, sport…and of course, fashion.

Johar told After Hours, “The concept of DNA After Hrs Style Awards is good. For a publication of this esteem to support style and fashion only goes to show how important a market it is and it also helps the industry.”

With the Style Awards being an exclusive ‘By Invitation Only’ sit-down event, the excitement is palpable. Says superstar Amitabh Bachchan, nominated in the Eternally Stylish (Male) category, “Style awards are generally done by fashion magazines, and a fashion publication taking it up is certainly a very new concept. I think for me style is very individual. I wish DNA After Hrs all the success on the Style Awards.”

Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, nominated in the Style Goddess category, said that the “expectations from tonight...are sky high!” She says, “DNA will show excellent taste and I will witness excellent style!”

These are the views of just some of the select invitees and nominees expected to attend this glittering ceremony. As the country’s beautiful people gather under one roof, After Hrs is delighted to celebrate with them what we are best known for: Style!
