This Diwali, a wide variety of lights are available in the market to light up your homes and offices. A new entry to the lot is LED strip lights that seem to be people's favourite pick this year.
Khushiram Jumani, owner of Ram Electricals on Gandhi road, says: "These LED strip lights offer a new variety to people. Many people choose to buy this as it looks very sleek, neat and bright."
This variety is available in multi-colour, where one can change the colour of the light with a remote. Though they are expensive, still people are opting this to light their homes because of its novelty.
KK Patel of Ambica Electric Co says, "The new LED strip lights have been successful in attracting customers this Diwali. People can use them to decorate their interiors as well the exteriors of their homes and offices." Patel said that people also prefer rope lights that are available in various colours and are less expensive.
In spite of the new choices, the usually available varieties of lights still continue to be popular among people. Jumani says that the jewel series of lights have been in constant demand. "For last couple of years, there has been a change in the trend. Rather than flickering loud lights, people prefer steady decent lights. And thus the jewel series of lights is still favourite among people," he said.
Rajat Desai, a customer, says: "The jewel series looks beautiful and also it is the least expensive one. So I prefer to choose this over the rest."
Lights are used to create various designs and patterns on the walls, to embellish the interiors, and often used as 'torans'. Kamal Jain, owner of Anil Electricals, says, "The 'diya' series of lights is one among the most picked varieties this year. It looks beautiful, besides people can get rid of the tedious task of lighting lamps."
Jumani says that apart from the usual range of series lights, a variety of laser lights are also popular among people this year. He says, "The laser lights change patterns on the walls of buildings. Its range is as long as over half a kilometre."
