Bauble babes: Radhika and Gauri Tandon

Jewellery designers Radhika and Gauri Tandonhave combined their talents to create one-of-a-kind, wearable statements coveted by the hottest American celebrities, such as Camille Belle, Drew Barrymore, Eva Longoria-Parker, Hayden Panettiere, Hilary Duff,
Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Jessica Szohr, Linda Evangelista, Lucy Liu and Vanessa Williams.

Their pieces are set apart by innovative styles, handcrafted pieces and plush materials.

Talking about their Hollywood clients, the sister-in-law team says, “All we can say is we were at the right place at the right time, got the right retailers where many celebrity stylists visit and picked our pieces for various red-carpet and other big occasions, and this is how we got noticed by the Hollywood power-wagon.”

Their jewellery is about creating designs that are rooted in India but global in language; it’s about a mature and evolved expression of Indian-ness.

Speaking about their collections, they say, “We used to make jewellery for our use until Radhika who stays in California was spotted by an editor of a fashion website wearing one of the rings made by us and since then we started taking our task seriously. We make luxury fashion jewellery. It’s inspired by Indian designs but blended in an international style. That’s our USP. We take the Indian polki, gota enamels, meenakari work and twist it by not doing it in the regular floral or conventional motifs and instead use abstract motifs or a scattered glass look to give it a more international contemporary flavour.”

They have chosen to selectively release their brand in Mumbai this month. The brand is also sold in retail and online stores worldwide, including Neiman Marcus, Henri Bendel, Harrods, and Harvey Nichols.
