It definitely requires hard effort to hold yourself back from biting into those irresistible street side delights at Juhu beach and Chowpatty. And if hygiene was one issue that kept you from grabbing those trademark Mumbai pav bhajis or licking in those colourful khus golas as you walked past those bright and brilliant street stalls lined in a row, here’s some good news. A ‘Street Food Festival’ hosted by Hotel  Sahara Star has the best of all roadside delicacies.

Executive chef Salil Fadris divulges that it is the elite class who actually miss street food the most. “Monsoons is the perfect season for a fest like this as the hygiene scare does not allow people to give into the temptations of the roadside bhel puris and vada pav,” he adds.

The fest has given Mumbaikars a chance to savor the finger-licking delicacies which they otherwise miss out on. Justifying this, Fadris adds, “The cutting chai and pakoda combination is doing the best business,” — which indeed is not just a comfort but a way of life for all Indians. The festival is on at Sahara Star until August 8, 2010.
