Here’s a shopping extravaganza that will make you look like a million bucks, if you so desire. On display are gold-and-silver-plated hair brushes, a sexy beachwear line, chic designer bags, shoes and glitzy baubles that complete that diva look. The best part is that you can walk in dressed like poor Cindrella but walk out feeling like princess Cindrella — all under one roof!

Welcome to Bizzare Bazaar, a one-day shopping carnival, showcasing wares from over 50 designers. Designer wear, accessories, lifestyle products, home and bath accessories, jewellery, wedding trays, gift packaging and wrapping, international brands, artifacts, desserts, chocolates and much more comprise the smorgasbord of products on display.

Among the 50 odd designers, some famous names like Ahana Deol, actress Hema Malini’s younger daughter, will be showcasing her line of bohemian chic garments aptly titled ‘Happy Hippy’. Event manager and society maven Sharmilla Khanna’s daughter Shaan will be showing off her creativity through a range of hand bags; Archana Mariwala will be displaying hand-made soaps.

“I make one-of-a-kind bags in patent leather, fusion fabrics, kitschy materials etc but haven’t yet got into customisation of hand-bags,” says Shaan Khanna, the 22 year old who started making hand bags since she was just 15!

Ahana Deol who has begun designing under her label ‘Ahana’ only since a year says, “I will be displaying dresses, skirts, jackets with lots of colour that has a very 60s and 70s retro feel to it. The line is called ‘Happy Hippy’.” Though he lady doesn’t have a formal degree in fashion designing, she has taken up designing purely driven by passion. Says Archana Mariwala, co-owner Soap Opera, “Each soap is hand-crafted with scents like mogra, jasmine, rose etc which are imported from Grasse in France, the world’s perfume capital. There is a huge mens and kids’ range of soaps too.”

“The best part is that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the products at the exhibition will go to two NGOs — Teach For India and Yuva Pratischan,” says Tisha Kapur who along with her sister Tiya Kapur-Asrani are the organisers of the show.
The exhibition is only for today from 11 am till 12.30 midnight at Joss Banquets,1st and 2nd floor, Kala Godha.
