ShareMumbai: Sonali is just 20 years old but she certainly has a lot more pressure in her life. She is Ujjwala Raut's sister. Sonali is a model and has recently done her first shoot for the Kingfisher Calendar.
She says, "It's great to be chosen by Atul Kasbekar to feature in the 2010 edition of the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar. It is every model's dream to be a part of this incredible platform and I am delighted that I am following Ujjwala's footsteps."
"My sister was in the inaugural 2003 edition. Shot at the amazing Soneva Fushi Resort in the Maldives, it was a surreal experience with an awesome crew and photographer and I can't wait for the launch of this fantastic calendar. If it does for me what it did for Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Yana Gupta and Monikangana, I would be over the moon. I am very excited," she says.
She further adds, "Modelling happened to me by chance. I was spotted by Atul Kasbebar. Because my sister has worked with him, I knew him. And the next thing I knew I was shooting with him."
Sonali admits that she is taking her career "very easy". She says, "I am not hurrying into anything. I am even open to Bollywood, how could anyone refuse a movie?" However, about reality TV, she says, "I would like to do reality television too, but I am not open to shows that will be dangerous and scary."
On her sister's impending divorce, she says, "Ujjwala is going through a very rough patch now, but she is a strong girl. She knows her family is always there to support her. One advice that she gives me is that a model should be comfortable in her own skin and her body. Also she should be ready to do anything. It is always important to go that extra mile."
