Mumbai: We are nearing the completion of one year of the 26/11 terror attacks that created havoc in Mumbai. Though the city will have to live with the scars of the attack forever, the art fraternity is doing its bit to ease at least little bit of the pain. Prominent artists of the country are putting their ideas on canvases to condemn the attacks -- one of the worst the country has seen.

One of Goa-based artist Subodh Kerkar's works portraying terrorists as donkeys.

Goa-based artist Subodh Kerkar's works show his angst against the wrath experienced last year by portraying the terrorists as donkeys in his solo show titled 'Of Donkeys, Demons and Diabolical Deads'.

"The seashore has always been the canvas of my work and this is the practice that I have been following for long. So, I made people wear donkey's masks and in a choreographed act they moved about the beach with AK 47s. This act has been shot and photographed and will be displayed at the exhibition at Gallery Beyond," he said.

Kerkar added, "I want to convey a message that terrorists are like donkeys that do not possess a brain of their own. They just act like donkeys; they do exactly what they have been asked to do without thinking."

Another show dedicated to the 26/11 terror attacks begins on November 10. The group show titled 'Nothing Will Ever Be the Same Again' is curated by Jasmine Shah Varma.

The artists whose works will be on display are Prasanta Sahu, Pradeep Mishra, Gayatri Gamuz, Ravi Kumar Kashi and Kim Kyoungae among others.

Condeming the attacks, Sahu said, "A human has to be merciless and wild like a ferocious animal to brutally kill so many innocent lives."
