A charity event organised by Sangeeta Assomull and Chhaya Momaya will see collectibles from a Pablo Picasso lithograph to high-end
furniture among other things up for grabs.

It takes a small something to bring about a big change. That is what prompted art aficionado Sangeeta Assomull when she decided to embark upon an initiative that would help those with visual/multiple empairment. “Just recently, about three weeks ago, one of the girls in the office suffered a debilitating eye disease. It was a sudden awareness about the power of sight that came about. We realised we had taken so much for granted and it was so imporatnt to help others,” she starts.
After a meeting, she decided to visit the The Happy Home and School for the Blind and do a charity initiave for them. Now on March 3, unusual art, limited edition items and exquisitely hand-crafted pieces are going to be part of a charity auction, the proceeds of which will go to the school for the blind.
Chhaya Momaya, who is also organising the event, plans to have a huge lifestyle projection there. She says, “The idea of bringing together luxury and philanthropy is about caring. Each guest will get to light a candle there and feel involved,” she adds.
Guests qualify for a lucky draw prize from a catalogue of 50 items, each valued between Rs 3 lakh and Rs10 lakh. The catalogue promises to be a diverse selection of collectibles from a Pablo
Picasso lithograph to art furniture and more. A limited amount of 100 tickets will be issued making the odds to win one in two guests. For the lucky 50 guests, a further payment of Rs 1 lakh will allow them to redeem the enduring objects of their choice, on a first come, first draw basis.
