The night was full of Hindi numbers interspersed with some Ebony And Ivory and We Are The World. The Gorbatschow Corporate Karaoke Challenge finals at Soul Fry Casa, Fort, supported by DNA was an affair to remember. Corporates came out in full strength to cheer for their respective contestants.
The Challenge which started on November 4 showed huge participation by corporates in the city. Six rounds and a semi-finals later, six finalists (each a group of three singers) were chosen for the final challenge. Kishore Kumar solos and duets like Hawa Ke Saath Saath and Hal Kaisa Hai Janaab Ka dominated the night in the solo as well as the duet round. The Works’ singer Mihir Joshi, brought in loads of energy as a host and singer Abby made a special appearance on the stage singing one of his favourite numbers by John Mayer, Your Body Is A Wonderland.
The six finalist teams of the karaoke challenge — Tata Communications, Thompson Reuters, FCB Ulka, Infrasoft Technologies, HDFC Standard Life, Airtel and ICICI Bank battled it out in the midst of a really enthusiastic audience.
The best solo was won by Piyush from Tata Communications and the best duet was won by Macklin and Ketaki from advertising agency FCB Ulka. The event which was co-sponsored by Close Up and organised by Fresh Experience had people not only singing but also dancing and grooving.
Post the competition the team supporters took to the microphone and the dance too.
