Meet a group of 12 second-year students from the JJ School of Arts who in a matter of four days have created some awe inspiring paintings for the new offices of Pubilicis Group’s VivaKi. The new office is christened ‘The Hive’ and the students have interestingly used the concept to decorate the office.

“We often get opportunities to take up projects outside our college curriculum. But this is the first time we have done something on this scale. First we understood the requirement of the paintings. Since the office is called ‘The Hive,’ it is very symbolic of the bee-hive which also has numerous teams performing under one roof,” says  Sayyed Arshad, one of the student painters who adds, “Secondly media companies treat the client as the king. So we connected to the two concepts together and painted some bees working together to create a Chess set King as  for the new hive.”

The outer appearance of the conference rooms have been fashioned to resemble a railway platform with a train pulling in. The painting made on the outer adjacent wall of the conference room shows a smart looking man, who has just alighted from the train, excited to be leaving the conference room with so many new ideas.

“The background of this painting was intentionally created with a crowd of people dressed in regular clothes and only this man in bright colours,” explains Arshad of how they translated the idea.

The paintings in the cafeteria are colourful, symbolising fun and refreshment.
Interestingly the boys have not charged a single penny for the impressive paintings which were just completed in four days.

“We just asked them to buy us the paint. The rest we did out of passion,” remarks Arshad. Most of the boys are not interested in doing a regular desk job after graduation because they think it will be too boring for them. “We will freelance or start an agency of our own. But we just want to keep doing what we truly love,” they say in unison.
